hiPSC Models

The Choroideremia Research Foundation (CRF) has created an internationally accessible BioBank to provide key cellular resources for CHM research. These resources, housed at WiCell and Coriell, allow scientists to study the disease at a microscopic level.

Using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) derived from CHM patients, researchers can:

  • Study disease progression in human cells.
  • Test potential treatments on human cells rather than relying solely on animal models, which may not respond the same way.
